Guarnaschelli began her culinary career in the kitchen watching mom, who was in charge of editing cookbooks in the early days, test many recipes. After working under Larry Forgione, she worked in various restaurants, like Guy Savoy's La Butte Chaillot in New York France Los Angeles. She was appointed executive chef of Butter. Guarnaschelli battled Cat Cora on Food Network's Iron Chef America 2007 Farmers Market Battle. In addition to her role as a Judge on the program, in 2011 she participated in the show's fourth season wherein she placed third. Also, she participated in The Food Network Challenge Ultimate Thanksgiving Feast episode, but lost the event.
